About Me
I’m Myles Lack-Zell, a product designer with a passion for integrating intentional design and robust engineering to create elegant solutions to everyday problems
Passions
My passion lies at the intersection of form and function, where intentional design and robust engineering come together to create beautiful and functional products that meet users where they are and deliver delightful experiences that ‘just fit’ into one’s routine.
Whether I’m deep into the details of my own design or just passing by, I’m constantly generating ideas for improving the products, spaces, and experiences I come across. I believe that products should be enjoyable in addition to simply and effectively serving their functions, as moments of joy or comfort can help us to ‘recharge’ and prepare to go out into the world to take on larger, more complex, problems. Improving people’s lives in small ways is how I contribute to a better world.
Education
In December 2024, I graduated with my bachelor’s degree in Engineering with a concentration in Adaptive Product Design from Olin College of Engineering, a small, project-based, engineering school incorporating design thinking and ethics into the entire curriculum. Throughout my education, I have built an intuition for usability and feasibility that informs my work throughout the product development process. I have experience managing long-term projects, collaborating on teams, and working directly with clients and outside partners.
In 2020, I graduated from The Cambridge School of Weston, a progressive high school focusing on student-centered learning and social justice. During my time there, I participated in over 60 distinct courses of in-depth study.
Before high school I spent a year and a half at NuVu Studio, an innovation school where students work on hands-on group projects to solve real world problems. I learned digital fabrication and prototyping techniques through the engineering design process.
